Expensive Pain by Osayimwese Nadir Karume

Seeing too many mothers crying through the rain, faced stained with tear tracks

Not believing the gifts God presented to them became such a strain

Gifts that were priceless turned into expensive pain

Young warriors fighting shadows running through the hood pulling poles

Trying to erase elusive souls dropping ammunition until bodies turn cold

Expensive pain

This contagion running through their veins like Covid changing the way they live

Lying in hospital beds and morgues young dude talking about running up the score

Until their benched and can’t enter the game no more

Expensive pain

Running through the city killing like its Disney Land, shooting bystanders to the point

That reasoning is so hard to understand

Young boys calling themselves grown men all because they carry a gun in their hand

Without the understanding the life eliminating power in their hand, soul controller

Breathe eliminator, their feeling bolder not understanding their already dead soldiers

Dying and surviving through

Expensive pain

Stop the Killing Save our Children and our mothers tears.
